TERMS AND CONDITIONS- DEBIT CARD PORTAL FOR CARD AUTHORIZATION CONTROLS

PART A

  1. Definitions:
  1. Card shall mean a Visa/Master/RuPay Debit Card issued by Federal Bank.
  2. Cardholder shall mean the individual in whose name the Card has been issued, who is authorized to hold the card and the Card account is maintained. Hereafter for the purpose of this document, references to ‘You’ and ‘Your’ in this document shall be constructed to mean the Cardholder.
  3. Card Account or account shall mean an account maintained by the Bank under these terms and conditions, in the name of the Cardholder.
  4. POS Transactions means all chip/magnetic strip and PIN based transactions made at merchant point of sale terminal (POS) either in Indian Rupee or any foreign currency by the Cardholder excluding contactless transactions (otherwise referred to as tap & pay) and tokenized transactions.
  5. Online Transactions means all transactions made online through merchant website, application or vide any payment gateway either in Indian Rupee or in foreign currency including all standing instructions active on the Debit Card.
  6. Cash Withdrawals means all transactions where cash is withdrawn from any ATM either in Indian Rupee or in foreign currency.
  7. Card Limit means the credit limit available for all transactions including POS, online, international, contactless, tokenized and Cash on the Card.
  8. Cash limit means the amount of cash or cash equivalent that the Card member may be allowed to withdraw cash from the ATMs in India or overseas and/or may be allowed to utilise for any non-purchase transaction.
  1. The Cardholder acknowledges that Debit card portal is provided as a self-services facility by Federal Bank to allow transaction control based on the cardholder’s usage and preferences.
  2. The Cardholder must ensure that the URL on the address bar of their self-service Debit card portal begins with https://accountopen.federalbank.co.in/fbldebitcard/card-pin-login >
  3. Only KYC complied and active accounts will get access to
  4. Only accounts having mode of operation as Single/Either or Survivor ( E or S) can access
  5. The Cardholder will not be able to access the Debit Card portal if same mobile number is updated in more than one account/customer ID.
  6. Do not provide the one-time password (OTP) on any page that appears when you click on a hyperlink received through email
  7. The Cardholder must remain cautious of any Phishing emails/SMS and never follow their directions.
  8. By using the Debit card portal to enable or disable specific categories of transactions, the cardholder agrees that Federal Bank may allow or restrict transactions based on the preferences set by the Cardholder at the times of the transaction.
  9. By switching Online/International/Contactless transactions on or off through Debit card portal, the cardholder agrees that Federal Bank may allow or block online International/Contactless transactions, including Standing Instructions, as per the cardholder’s selected preferences at the time of execution.
  10. When a transaction Limit is set through Debit card portal, any transaction exceeding the defined limit will be automatically declined by Federal Bank.
  11. If a Cash Withdrawal Limit is set via Debit Card portal, any cash withdrawals beyond this specific limit will be declined by Federal Bank.
  12. Federal Bank shall not be liable for any declined or unsuccessful transactions resulting from preferences set by the cardholder through the debit card portal.
  13. The Cardholder understands that enabling or disabling transaction categories through debit card portal is entirely voluntary and at the discretion of the Cardholder.
  14. Our Bank / employees / call centre support staff do not ask for the details of your Cardholder’s account details/PIN/password. Kindly do not share any personal information ( like ATM card number, PIN, CVV, login user id, password etc) to anyone who pretends to be asking on behalf of the Bank. Be alert and avoid falling prey to such fraudulent acts. Please reach out to us for any assistance in this regard.

 

PART B

Safe and Secure usage

  1. Ensure the URL on the address bar of your self-service portal  begins with  https://accountopen.federalbank.co.in/fbldebitcard/card-pin-login
  2. Cardholder must log in using their registered mobile number and a One-Time Password (OTP) sent by the bank.
  3. Don’t share OTP with anyone for accessing Portal. 
  4. Do not provide the one-time password (OTP) on any page that appears when you click on a hyperlink received through email.
  5. The Cardholder must remain cautious of any Phishing emails/SMS and never follow their directions.
  6. Phishing emails/ SMS are those which are sent by fraudsters usually with a link or attachment. Never download attachments or click on the links on such emails. 
  7. Look for the padlock icon appearing at the top or bottom of the browser and click on it to see the verisign certificate issued to the site, authenticating it as the official website of Federal Bank. Alternatively click on the verisign icon to see the certificate. Follow the precautions mentioned there in, while viewing.
  8. Cardholders should access the portal only from a secure and trusted device.
  9. Install the latest Antivirus software on your computer system. This will reduce the risk of virus attacks. Continuous updating of these antivirus software will offer more resistance to newer viruses.
  10. Install personal firewall on your computer system. This will provide added level of security.
  11. Downloads from unfamiliar sources may contain hidden programs or viruses that can compromise your computer's security.
  12. Always logout completely , using the following steps:
    1. Logout the application by clicking on logout button.
    2. Close all the browser windows.
  13. Our Bank / employees / call centre support staff do not ask for the details of your account details/PIN/password. Kindly do not share any personal information ( like ATM card number, PIN, CVV, login user id, password etc) to any one who pretends to be asking on behalf of the Bank. Be alert and avoid falling prey to such fraudulent acts. Please reach out to us for any assistance in this regard.
