Terms and Conditions

  • Insurance coverage is provided by TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd & Ageas Federal Life Insurance Company Ltd.
  • The present insurance policy is live as on 08-02-2024 and is valid until 07-02-2025.
  • Customers in the age group of 18–65 will only be covered.
  • Insurance coverage will be live from the 60th day of customer onboarding (i.e., account opening or upgrade date) and will be valid until the validity date of the policy.
  • Minors who are part of the Celesta programme on attaining major status (Above 18), insurance coverage will be live only from the 60th day of attaining major status.
  • Insurance coverage is extended only to primary account holders.
  • Family members who are part of the Celesta family banking program shall also enjoy the benefits of complimentary insurance. However, a separate individual SB is mandatory to join the family banking program.
  • Cover will be valid only if the customer has maintained the Celesta eligibility criteria for the last three months from the claim date.
  • For accidental death, the base coverage will be Rs 5 lakhs, and the sum insured will be increased by Rs 2.5 lakhs for every POS (Point of Sale) or e-commerce transaction, up to a maximum of Rs 50 lakhs (for normal Celesta) and up to a maximum of Rs 60 lakhs (for Celesta Salary).
  • The cover is not valid for Armed forces, Politicians, Media (digital or print), Actors, Advocates and Bar Council Members, Commercial Drivers, People working on the live transmission lines or wires, People doing any sort of mining activities, People working at heights greater than 10 metres above the ground, People involved in performing offshore activities, Employees of Thermal Power and Hydro Power, Religious (example: pilgrims) or social groups, People who work in an industry where more than half of the workforce is involved in Risk Class IV activities.
  • The claim shall be payable under any one section: Personal Accidental Death or Accidental Death (Air Accidents Only).
  • Insurance coverage will be automatically renewed every year if the customer meets the Celesta eligibility criteria.
  • For claiming air accident coverage, flight tickets should be purchased using the Federal Bank Celesta debit card.
  • **Waiting period will be applicable for Daily Hospital cash as per below.
    • General – 30 days
    • Specific illness & Procedure – Waived Off
    • Pre-existing Disease – Waived Off
  • For Term Life Insurance coverage - ECOM / POS spent of minimum Rs.1000 within 60 days of onboarding to Celesta Salary scheme using the Celesta debit card is the basic criterion required for activation of this feature.
  • Complimentary features offered in Celesta Salary schemes are solely depended on the salary credits in accounts.
  • Fraudulent charge coverage (i.e. unauthorized charges made on bank account, through card : (i) in-store, (ii) telephone, (iii) ATM withdrawals, and/or (iv) on-line purchase(s), using payment card information) for Celesta clients will be valid only for those Celesta cards applied while account opening or upgrading. If the cards are applied during the interim period, the protection plan will not be applicable for the first year. Whereas the same shall be eligible depending on the card status on the subsequent year onwards.
  • Accidental claims shall be reported to the Insurance Company within 7 days from the date of the accident/illness/fraudulent charge, as the case may be.
  • The decision of the Bank and TATA AIG ,as mutually agreed upon, in all matters shall be final and binding on all persons.
  • All disputes arising out of or in connection with this feature/terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
  • Insurance can be claimed by
    1. Personal Accident Death Cover – Nominee / Legal Heir
    2. Daily Hospital Cash – Insured / Nominee / Legal Heir
    3. Fraudulent charge cover - Insured

Major Exclusions (Personal Accident Death Cover)

The Policy does not provide benefits for any loss resulting in whole or in part from, or expenses incurred, in respect of:

  1. Any Pre-existing Condition, any complication arising from it;
  2. Any claim of Insured Person arising from:
    • a. suicide or attempted suicide
    • b. wilful self-inflicted illness or injury except injury in self-defence or to save life; or
  3.  being under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs or other intoxicants except where the insured is not directly responsible for the injury / accident though under influence of intoxication.
  4. Participation in an actual or attempted felony, riot, crime, misdemeanor (excluding traffic violations) or civil commotion.

 

Major Exclusions (Daily Hospital Cash)

  1. General waiting period of 30 days will be applicable.
  2. Intentional self-injury or attempted suicide while sane or insane.
  3. Any insured person committing or attempting to commit a breach of law with criminal intent.
  4. War or any act of war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, civil war, public defence, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped acts, nuclear weapons/materials, chemical and biological weapons, ionising radiation.
  5. Any Insured Person's participation or involvement in naval, military or air force operation, racing, diving, aviation, scuba diving, parachuting, hang-gliding, rock or mountain climbing.

 

Major Exclusions (Fraudulent charge cover)

  1. Charges made on lost or stolen payment card more than 30 days pre reporting and 7 Days post reporting of the event to your payment card issuer for lost card liability.
  2. Charges made on payment card is still in their possession and unauthorized charges are made on their bank account, through: (i) in-store, (ii) telephone, (iii) ATM withdrawals, and/or (iv) on-line purchase(s), using their payment card information, more than 30 days prior to your first reporting of the event to payment card issuer and 7 days post reporting the event to payment card issuer.
  3. Cash advances made with lost or stolen payment card.
  4. Charges incurred by a resident of the household, or by a person entrusted with payment card.
  5. Costs other than those listed above.
  6. Additional losses that occur due to failure to comply with provisions under “Duties after a Loss”.
  7. Unauthorized ATM withdrawals that were made more than 30 days prior to first reporting of the event to your payment card issuer(s), bank account issuer(s); and 7 days post reporting the event to the payment card issuer.
  8. Losses that do not occur during the policy period;
  9. Losses that result from, or are related to, business pursuits including work or profession;
  10. Losses caused by the card holder, or card holder relatives’, illegal acts;
  11. Losses that the card holder intentionally caused;
  12. Losses that result from the intentional actions of a relative, or actions that a relative knew of or planned;
  13. Losses due to war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war has been declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, civil commotion, uprising, military or usurped power, martial law, terrorism, riot or the act of any lawfully constituted authority or vandalism of any kind; or
  14. Losses due to the order of any government, public authority, or customs’ official.

 

Claims documents to be submitted for Personal Accidental / Air Accident Death

  1. Duly completed claim form.
  2. Copy of Death Certificate
  3. Copy of FIR & Police Panchnama Report, MLC
  4. Copy of Postmortem Report.
  5. Copy complete medical records
  6. Discharge/Death Summary, Laboratory,
  7. Radiological investigation records, if any.
  8. Copy of Chemical or viscera report, if any.
